Frequently Asked Questions
Every child’s therapeutic journey is unique. Some children benefit from short-term support around a specific concern, while others benefit from longer-term therapy depending on their emotional needs, goals, and life experiences.
Therapy moves at the pace of the child, not the pressure around them.
Yes. Parent involvement is an important part of supporting meaningful and lasting progress. Parent sessions may include collaboration around goals, emotional support strategies, updates, and guidance to help strengthen understanding and connection outside of therapy.
That is completely okay.
Every child experiences therapy differently. Some children talk right away, some play, some create, and some simply need time to warm up before they feel comfortable in the space.
Play therapy does not rely solely on verbal communication. Sessions may include games, art, sandtray, storytelling, imaginative play, movement, or conversation depending on what feels most natural for your child.
I provide individual play therapy for children alongside parent support sessions. While I do not offer ongoing family therapy, I am always happy to provide trusted referrals if a family-based approach would better support your needs.
I do not provide custody evaluations or involvement in ongoing court proceedings. If your family is navigating custody-related concerns, we can discuss whether my practice feels like an appropriate fit and explore referrals if needed.
The process typically begins with a parent consultation to better understand your concerns, your child’s needs, and whether my therapeutic approach feels like a good fit for your family.
I accept select insurance plans and also offer private-pay options. I am happy to help verify benefits beforehand so you have a clearer understanding of coverage, costs, and next steps before getting started.
